Catching Up

So I have been sick so I haven't been able to really think about something to blog. I have time now to blog so I thought I would just say a little something about whats going on in my life currently. Since I got the flu I have been behind extremely on homework which is really terrible and stressful.I am not usually one to want to stay home from school when I am sick but this week was an exception. Now that the new week has just begun I do feel like myself again and I plan to get on top of things. Other than school work and sickness I went Black Friday shopping which was fun. My mom bought me some stuff and now I know about 2 Christmas presents that I will be getting. I also got my grandpas present for this year which is great. I just have to buy presents for my mom, grandma,and uncle. The only bad thing is that I am running low on cash so I will be wrapping presents for money for my Aunt Sandy. I love to wrap presents so it isn't so bad. I am also excited because there will be a new Doctor Who Christmas special this year. Even though I wont be able to see it when it premiers I will get my hands on it eventually. I also have a new favorite Christmas song which is called Wishlist by The Ready Set.

Scary Denist

Next week I have to go to the dentist. I would rather go to a dentist than a doctor but I still don't want to. I go to the dentist office my mom works at which is pretty cool but it makes me nervous because of the stories she tells me when she gets home. Her co-workers aren't the best people ever let's just say. The last time I went in I was relieved when they said I didn't need braces unlike my previous dentist who thought it was necessary.I like my teeth and quite a few people say I resemble a vampire which is funny to me. I'm scared because I had 3 cavities that were starting to form. I have a bad feeling that they got worse since the last time they were checked. I am just praying I won't have to get them filled for awhile. I have only had one cavity filled before and it was in a baby tooth. I used to love being able to pick out a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and a sticker.I would always take the kids toothpaste because it tasted the best.It was blue and sparkly!It also was supposed to taste like bubblegum even though it didn't.

The Prices We Pay For A Good Cup Of Tea

So this morning I wanted a good cup of tea. I drink tea every morning but it sounded extra nice today because I wasn't having the best morning. I always put honey in my tea. My mom bought me a jar of honey so I can't just squeeze it out onto my spoon. I tried to carefully pour some on my spoon and it came out way faster than expected. The honey dripped down my awesome Doctor Who Disappearing TARDIS Mug and got all over the counter. Honey is really hard to clean up when you are trying to rush and you are in a bad mood. Then I ran my hand through my hair to get my bangs out of the way.
, little did I know that there was still some on my hands which always happens to me. The honey got in my hair which meant I had to get my hair wet to clean it out. I usually don't mind getting my hair wet but it took me forever to straighten my hair because I got a strange haircut. I guess I am complaining about nothing but I didn't have anything else to talk about. The rest of my day ended up good which is what I was hoping for. Tomarrow I will try to be more careful with my honey. Who knew it honey could create such a fuss?

Lock-In

So next weekend my church/youth group is hosting a lock-in.We have to stay locked inside the church all night except the girls will leave in the early morning and then come back at the end.I am excited because we have been bugging people about having a lock-in and we finally got one! The only sad part is that the boys will get to play video games after the girls leave and I want to play video games with them. They kinda just assume that the girls don't like video games because the majority would not usually play video games on a normal basis. We are going to play a game called Psycho. They won't tell us what it is but it will be fun most likely. Ever since we have gotten our new youth leaders it has been so amazing. I am inviting my friends but I don't know how many of them are going to make it. So far I have invited 7 people. I knew 2 of them would reject cause they are guys and they don't know anyone except for me and I would have to leave at some point. I know for sure 2 people are coming which is awesome! I really hope we have a good turnout. It would be no fun without a lot of people. I don't plan on sleeping that weekend which will not agree with my cold.

Someone Has Bad Dandruff

So this post isn't about dandruff  it is about snow. Today we got the first snow of the season. It is so weird seeing white everywhere all of a sudden. I love snow most of the time.I think its very pretty but I don't like it when I have to walk through it and it gets my feet wet and cold. Having it snow makes me happy and gets me ready for Christmas. The past couple years it seemed like Christmas just flew by. I don't want that to happen this year. I want to make the most of this winter season. I'm not sure what I am going to do but I'll think of something. I remember last year quite well which is unusual for me to remember much of anything. I was catching up on Doctor Who because Matt Smith just became The Doctor and I had to order the new season on Netflix. I also watched a lot of  Invader Zim because I got one of DVDs for Christmas. I remember staying up late playing my Nintendo DS. I don't remember much else except for Black Friday which was intresting.

Feeling The Drainage

So I have been fighting off a cold and that has been really making me tired.Also having schoolwork,the Student Hunger Drive,and other priorities are starting to get to me. Last night in the shower I noticed more hair than usual falling out of my scalp and when that happens I know that I have reached a certain stress out stage. I was surprised that all yesterday I was actually awake and alert until 10:30p.m. came around and I was really exhausted. I'm not allowed to take naps when I come home from school so I have to find something that will occupy my time till I need to start homework. For some odd reason I get really tired after school then after a couple hours it gets better. I have a thing for caffeine but I have been trying to cut back because it is unhealthy and I started to put on weight. For awhile I only drank one pop a week but after awhile I started on my bad habits again and still drink too much. This week has been a fail. I drank quit a bit of soda. I really enjoy energy drinks but I don't drink them like a maniac. I also really like tea and I drink it every morning. Coffee is nice but makes my stomach upset if I haven't eaten anything with it. Maybe the reason I am so tired is because I'm unhealthy.I used to work out before school started but now I don't have time to. I can't wait for Thanksgiving vacation maybe I can catch up on some sleep.

Yes Or No To Screamo?

Hey guys,
So I am just sitting here listening to a christian screamo band called Devil Wears Prada. I am listening to their Zombie EP. I am trying to form an opinion about it and so far I like it. This got me thinking about how some people really can't handle scremo music. I totally respect people's opinions on this type of music because it can be frightening and not a good influence. When I am in the mood to listen to scremo I have some standards I go by.I only listen to bands that I know are christian based, I have to understand some of the lyrics,and as a personal preference they can't be growling in a low voice the whole time. What I like about Devil Wears Prada is that they sing really nice and they incorporate their scremo skills into their songs so its not super hardcore the entire song. -Lexus

What Are You?...A Weeping Angel

My church held an event where we have people park their cars and kids go around trick-or-treating at each car. Everyone dresses up in costumes. I dressed up as a Weeping Angel. My friend went with me as the 10th doctor. I painted my face white and attempted to look like a statue as best as I could. I did scare a little kid which was kinda funny.My other friend went as Harry Potter and she won a prize for the best costume!She got a candy bar which was pretty cool. I also got to see my friends new puppy. I would see it in pictures and I didn't think it was that cute but when I got to see it in person it changed my mind. It's a black and white speckled cocker spaniel puppy with the bluest eyes ever. The puppy's name is Izzy.

Frustrating Qualities

There are things about myself that I find frustrating. I think I will make a list.

1. The way I procrastinate
2. The way I forget everything unless I write it on a post-it note
3. The way I always go off on tangents thinking about something when I should be reading something important
4. The way I am sometimes to scared to ask or give people something
5. The perfectionist inside me

7. When I want stay up late into the wee hours of the morning but ends up being to tired to

10. My fear of someone coming in our house at night and murdering my family

Longest Night

So I am sitting here in the hotel room in the dark with my mom attempting to sleep and my aunt totally passed out.Its reached 11:06p.m. so Doctor Who is on which gives me some joy.It's really nice having a window to sit next to with a great skyline. My guardians didn't feel like going anywhere after 7:30p.m. so I have been quite bored all night. All I have done is play on my aunt's laptop,get a shower, and watch boring tv because we don't get all the channels in our hotel. My friend who was supposed to come with me didn't.She decided not to come the night before.I was kinda irritated that she blew me off but I like being by myself during trips like this.I don't have to be concerned about another person so it's kinda releiving. We leave tomorrow afternoon which is a bummer cause this town is awsome.I do miss my bed and Xbox 360 though. I will just have to spend some extra quality time with them when I get home.-Lexus

Lets Take A Trip

So this weekend I get to go to Des Moines for the weekend.I am allowed to bring a friend with me so I picked a friend I don't really get to hang out with by myself anymore. My aunt is running a race and she wanted us to come with as company.Since my aunt will be in the race my mom, friend,and I will be on our own. I don't know what we are going to be doing but I'm happy as long as its fun. The downside is that I will be missing youth group.We have new youth leaders who are awesome!I am excited to have them!-Lexus

The Result of This Weekend

Hey,
So I said in my last post that I would post a picture of what I bought this weekend so I will below this post. The first thing got was a black and gray striped pull over from Forever 21. Then I got a black and white rubber bracelet the has LOVE IS THE MOVEMENT on it which I bought form Hot Topic. Red hair dye from Target was the last thing I bought. It was really fun to hang out with my friends. When I got home after awhile I dyed my hair because my roots were showing. It was the first time I did it by myself and I did a pretty good job for it being my first time. Before I dyed my hair I went to the theatre to see Abduction. I thought it was decent. On Sunday I went to Kohls and bought some tops. I wore my purple one today because we had picture day. Yesterday I tried water marbling my nails and it didn't work out well so I probably won't be trying that again. On Monday I had to perform a skit with our high school and 8th graders for tons of teenagers because our school participates in the Student Hunger Drive. We got on the news!-Lexus

Entering the Weekend

so I just got done playing some Techno Kitten Adventure and Left 4 Dead 2 before I go with my friends to help out our new youth group leader move into their new home. I am also going out to a friends house because its her birthday. We will be going out of town tomorrow to a mall. I hope I can find something awesome worth buying. If I go to Hot Topic I bet I could find something. If I do find something I'll take a picture and post it.-Lexus

Sketching For Timmy!

So my Uncle Tim Asked me to draw a picture of a character in Halo. I once drew a Halo character on his wall but when he moved out they painted over it. I am eager to start this drawing even though it will be challenging  so far I have found a picture to go off of I just need to get started hopefully some of it will be done this week. I feel very privileged that he wants a picture. I love drawing for people.-Lexus

Fear and Suspicion

So I literally just walked into my house and the door was left open and no one is home. The lock was locked but the door was open and I'm a little freaked out. My mom just told me last night that there have been robberies around were I live. I thought I just heard a noise just a minute ago too. I called my mom's cell and left her a message. It really makes me think about how I should probably be prepared for situations like this because it could happen to anyone. I have always had a fear that someone would come into my house and kill my family so that doesn't help the situation at all. I think I'm going to call my mom's t work number now to see what I should do. All I know is that I'm not going upstairs!-Lexus

Ruby Anniversary

Hey,
So this weekend we had a celebration for my grandparents because it was their anniversary. They have been married for 40 years now. Since they have been married for 40 years the name of the anniversary is the ruby anniversary. My mom spent a lot of time and effort getting things prepared. Everything was beautiful and decked out in yellow and green which was their wedding colors. She also got a bouquet made that looked like my grandmas bouquet on her wedding day for the centerpiece. I made chocolate cups filled with cool whip and raspberries.I also painted a portrait of my grandparents on their wedding day. It was the first time I used water colors and I rarely paint on canvas so it didn't turn out as well as I wanted. It was still pretty good though sometimes I'm a perfectionist so that gets in the way of enjoying my own work. My grandma wanted to cry when she saw it so I know it meant alot.I got to watch The Amazing World of Gumball with my cousins which was fun. I played video games and beat a couple level on a game I just got which was awsome.I also got to youth group with one of my buddies that day too. It was a pretty good Sunday until I had to push myself to do homework at the last minute but it really wasn't that bad.-Lexus

Zombie Nightmare

Hey guys,
So last night I had a nightmare. I usually have nightmares but the thing is they never really freak me out too much and I usually can't remember any details from the dream. The dream I had last night was different.It's kind of weird because it was like I was in a video game for the first section of the dream and then in real life. I haven't even played any of my zombie games in awhile so I found it kind of funny. It consisted of me and some friends I didn't even recognize. There was a zombie apocalypse so we decided to go into this office that my mom used to clean when I was a child. I was freaked out because my friends kept turning on the lights and attracting the zombies to the office. It was really stressful when I couldn't find a gun that I could shoot properly and then when I did get it to work it was like they were immune to it. Later that night I had another dream where I was looking out my window and a bunch of zombies were in my front yard about to break in and I was freaking out because I didn't want to leave my room to get a knife from the kitchen for the fear that there would be zombies already in my house. I also had another zombie dream earlier in the week I don't remember it very much. All I know now is that zombie dreams stress me out!-Lexus

Japanese Treats

Hello,

I was so excited yesterday when I was walking through Wal-Mart with my mom and I happened to find Pocky!Pocky is like a biscuit stick that has a type of flavor coating on them. I personally like the strawberry kind but the others are just as good. I was kind of sad because my favorite bookstore is going out of business and it was the only place I saw Pocky being sold. I also like Hello Panda which would be my 2nd favorite Japanese treat. Hello panda are little round or panda head shaped biscuits that have the strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla filling. Again I like the strawberry the best. They also have an image of a panda playing a type of sport stamped on each biscuit. I used to be able to find it at Hy-Vee but now I stared seeing it at Target. There is one more treat that I have come across that is sold at Hy-Vee which is YanYan. YanYan is another biscuit stick that has weird sayings stamped on them. It will have an animal and a saying next to it for example, "Octopus Lucky Number 8." They usually don't make much sense. YanYan has either a chocolate or vanilla flavoring to dip your sticks in. I don't really like YanYan anymore but I have only had the chocolate kind so maybe I would like the vanilla better.-Lexus

iPod Dinosaur

Hey guys,

So I had to transfer my iPod to a new computer so I lost most of my music. Now I have been borrowing albums left and right to replace what I have lost. Unfortunately since I love a lot of music I no longer have room on my tiny iPod shuffle. I love my iPod it's very tiny and handy but I think its about time to upgrade. I got my iPod for Christmas 3 years ago and I've wanted a new one for awhile now. I don't really care what kind I get as long as it has a ton of memory space. I also have to consider that I am going to be the one buying it and the fact that I don't have a job doesn't help at all. I think I would have to raise at least $100 or more depending on what I want.I guess I could cash in the change I keep in my TARDIS bank once change goes in there I don't take it out. I have been putting coins in there since April so I should have a pretty good amount. I have wanted to take my change in to be exchanged for paper money for a long time now but we always forget. Maybe I should write a reminder on a post-it. Writing on post-its always seem to work for me. Christmas is also around the corner maybe if I ask again this year for a new one someone will actually buy one for me which would be so awesome!-Lexus

Hello My Name Is....

If I could pick my own name what would it be? I am usally good with coming up with boy names not girl names. Originaly my mom wanted to name me either Alex or Erin.She settle for my first name being Alexis and my middle name being Erin though. I love my middle name so I would never change that but when I get called Lexi sometimes I really wish I had a diffrent name. After searching through lists of names Iv'e come across some that caught my eye. I like Taylor,Parker,Riley,and Kylie. I wouldn't want a name that is really girly just because I don't feel it would fit my persoality. I know that some people use their middle name for their first name and since I love my middle name I would be willing to use it if I ever required a name change. For the longest time I never knew how to spell my middle name beause just never used it for anything. I also spelled my first name with a Z instead of an S. On the brightside I do get some unique nicknames from little kids who can't pronounce anything. My favorite niknames so far have been Sashi and Exalis. I guess it was meant to be.-Lexus

Super Awsome Nail Time!

Hello friends,
So....I was searching pictures of Domo and I came across a picture of someone's finger nails painted as Domo.They were really cute so I thought I would give it a try.They turned out pretty good but I haven't painted any cool designs on my nails in a long time so they didn't turn out as good as I wanted them. My favorite thing to paint is neon rainbows.I also like painting checkers and seasonal pictures on my nails. I just recently bought some silver and black crackle polish.The crackle polish looks really neat and it's easy. I also just bought some glow-in-the-dark polish at a craft store because I had to go there to buy some paint for a painting I will probably blog about later. I put some of it on my toes last night but I couldn't really tell if it worked or not. I think I needed to expose it to the light longer.Although I did shine a black light on it and it started glowing. Im going to make it a goal to do something fun on my nails every week because I love to do it and the more I practice the better I get. It brings out the artist in me. Now all I have to do is think of some designs. I have been thinking about doing the British flag for awhile now.-Lexus

I Feel Like Such A Rebel

Hello,
So yesterday I spent the night at a friends house because one of our friends from college wanted to hang out before she left. I felt like a rebel because it was a school night and we were doing adventurous activities. At first it just started out with my college buddy and I trying to kill time while we were waiting for our other friend to get off work. So we decided to walk to her house,steal her brothers bike for me to use and go to Dollar General to buy streamers and balloons to decorate her room with. While we were there I saw these window markers and I thought they were awsome so I wanted to get them. My friend then came up with the brilliant idea to go ride our bikes over to the hospital that she works at and then "vandalize" her car. So thats exactly what we did. It was kinda funny because a resident in a wheel chair and another lady were sitting outside watching us. After that we rode over to her house and then put up streamers and balloons all over her room. We wanted to suprise her so we went out onto her roof to watch for her car but instead her dad came home before her so we had to hide on the roof until he went inside. It was hard to be sneaky because you can hear when people are on the roof sometimes and I was wearing a noisy necklace. Luckily we got in with only her brother knowing we were up there. It seemed like forever before she was going to come home so we went down stairs to watch for her decorated car. Eventualy we went to go hide in her room. Unfortunately I ruined the suprise because some random person honked their car at the people down the street so I sat up to look out the window to see and while I was looking out the window she came in behind me and scared me! Later we ate at Subway then we sat at the park in the dark across the street from her house. While we were sitting there a car of 3 guys park and just sit in their car listening and watching us act like nerds. Westarted to get worried though because they tried talking to us and eventualy got out of their car so as soon as we saw that we walked to the other side of the park. We were over there for awhile until someone got hurt and we left. Afterwards we all of a sudden out of the blue got the idea to go take a really super long walk that was from 9:00pm-12:00am. We walked through a bike path surrounded by woods where we took pictures and stargazed. It was away from town a little so you could see the stars super well and i got to see my first shooting star which was awsome. We walked endlessly through neighborhoods and through a cemetary. We would have stayed longer but my friends bladder was about to expode on us. It was super fun and painful but very much worth it. So then my college friend left and at around 1:30am me and my other friend fell asleep while watching Invader Zim. -Lexus

Smarter Overnight

Hey there panda bears,

So the most exciting thing thats happened since I last wrote was that I got my hair dyed red. I have been a blonde all my life so I was super excited for the change.I was thinking about it for awhile but never got it done.It was kinda suprising because I would always mention it to my mother but she would just brush it off like I never really said anything until this weekend when I randomly mentioned it. I never thought I would actually get it done. I have been getting compliments from alot of people so apparently it was a good choice but even if no one liked it I don't think that would put a damper on my happiness.I feel like I'm Jean Grey from X-Men or Hailey Williams from Paramore. My grandpa now calls me Flame and my uncle Chris called me the Human Torch. I will probably keep it for awhile. I think it fits my personality. My grandma had a harder time parting with my hair than I did. Luckily for her if you look closely my mom missed a little bit of it so I still have some blonde. The only downside is that some of the things I wear no longer go with my hair. Maybe it's a good excuse to go shopping. -Lexus

Summer Of 2011

Hi again,

Well my summer is coming to a close so now I guess its time to reminisce on the past 3 months. To start off my summer i got to go to the most amazing camp in the world!My youth group got together to go to RUSH week at Camp Chataqua in Ohio. Its always a moving experience to be around so many kids where you get to sit through services by Aaron Cavin that you can really apply to your life and get to worship with the Heartsong band that leads us. We get to compete in volleyball tournaments,meet new friends,go swimming,get close with the friends we already have,compete in the insane Ninja vs. Pirates games,and get to be right up close and personal with the lead singer of Remedy Drive.Its always a challenge to stay set on fire for God after leaving a whole week of constanly being excited to praise him,listen to his word,and praying to him.This year wasn't as thrilling as my first year in some aspects but I still loved it and its been the highlight of my summer both years Iv'e gone. I've also gotten to help out with Vacation Bible School at my church which was realy nice because I got to connect with people I never really went out of my way to talk to.I got to tak a trip to Chicago to see my cousin compete in a pagent so she could possibly win scholarship money. Unfortunantly we sat there for 3 hours and she was only 2 point away from winning!Towards the end of the summer I got to hang with my friend and her family and we went to see a demolition derby where one of the cars actually caught on fire!I also got my first XBOX360 that I was so excited for!So thats some of my exciting summer experience.I hope next year is even better.

A Litttle Bit About Myself

Hey Guys,

I'm doing this blog for a class I am taking and I thought to start off i would post some things about myself. I go by my nickname Lexus or Exalis. I am a born again believer who enjoys typical things such as watching television, playing videogames, listening to music, hanging out with my buddies and being a weirdo. I have a fascination with british and japanese things like Doctor Who and pandas. My favorite color is rainbow....yes rainbow. I enjoy wearing awsome hats.I also have Astgmatism in one eye which was something I am sure everyone was dying to know about. I get easily distracted,I love super heros, I love cloud gazing, I hope to someday learn to skateboard, and I am an artist. I draw cartoons most of the time and they are usally people too. I like to paint sometimes but a sketchbook or anything to be artistic with is always handy. I hope to be able to use my God given talent in a career in the future. Lately I've been thinking about brushing up on my skills somehow. I haven't been drawing nearly as much as i have done in the past. Its a little difficult to get inspired and create something I'm really proud of. Im sure I'll think of something.
